In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Unforgettable elephant encounters — Guests consistently praise the rare opportunity to ride, swim with, and watch elephants up close from their rooms. Many mention the park view rooms and the unique elephant taxi to dinner.
  • Exceptional staff and service — Reviewers repeatedly note the friendly, helpful, and professional staff, with one guest even receiving medicine delivered to their room. The genuine care of the mahouts is also singled out.
  • Comfortable, clean rooms — Rooms are described as immaculate, comfortable, and equipped with thoughtful touches like carved elephant feet on beds and complimentary fruit. The extra-large bathrooms are also appreciated.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Isolated location — The lodge is in a remote area, about a 2-hour drive from Seminyak. Guests recommend staying 2-3 days to fully enjoy the experience, but it may not suit those wanting easy access to Ubud's centre.
  • Cooler evenings and mornings — Temperatures drop in the early hours, so guests should pack something warm to wear. This may come as a surprise for those expecting consistently warm tropical nights.
  • Price point — Rates start from £292 per night, which is on the higher end for the area. The premium is arguably justified by the unique experience, but budget-conscious travellers may find it steep.

“The overall experience from check in to check out was fabulous. With 2 children (5 & 4) I wasn't sure of its suitability but it was an unforgettable experience for the whole family.”

“During my recent stay at an elephant park in Bali, I was initially hesitant about the idea. I was kinda surprised by the ethical treatment of the elephants. All of them had been rescued, and it was heartwarming to see the bond they had formed with their trainers. The park's commitment to the well-being of these majestic creatures was evident, and I felt grateful to be a part of such a positive experience. I highly recommend this unique and compassionate sanctuary to anyone visiting Bali.”

“We have not experienced a hotel quite this unique. The reason for our stay was obviously to interact with elephants, and this exceeded our expectations. The elephants were very happy to be cuddled and stroked endlessly by everyone, showed no aggression at all, babies were gorgeous. Lastly, all the trainers were fantastic, each one we talked to just loved their own elephant and it showed! The best part was swimming with Boris and his trainer, great fun! Lastly, we were upgraded to a balcony room overlooking the elephants, it was so great.”

“It was a unique experience. Kids and adults alike enjoyed it very much. We particularly enjoyed swimming with and riding the elephants. We had a park view room which enabled us to look out of our window/balcony and watch the elephants. We also enjoyed relaxing by the pool. It also gets quite cool in the evening and early mornings so make sure you bring something warm to slip on. The days are sunny and warm. The hotel is in quite an isolated location so would recommend staying there to really enjoy the experience (2-3 days enough). The Hotel/Park is about a 2-hour drive from Seminyak. The food was pretty good. The staff were helpful & friendly. We would return.”
